As part of a review of personal safety arrangements & control measures staff members and union officials participated in a trial of lone worker devices from various providers, and the Lone Worker Solutions SOS Fob was the preferred option. In particular, staff members were attracted to the emergency and virtual buddy features. Notting Hill Genesis has deployed 400 SOS Fobs across its lone working teams. The devices have already been actively used by lone workers across the group.

Wide ranging lone working roles, wide ranging support

Manchester, UK, 20 July 2016. Lone Worker Solutions (LWS) is delighted to announce that it has been contracted by The Calico Group to protect their community-based staff who work by themselves or out-of-sight of colleagues, often in challenging circumstances. The new protection system, Safe Hub, will be deployed using SOS Fobs, which Calico deemed the most appropriate device for their staff needs. The system offers state-of-the-art emergency and reactive support.

After a competitive tender and trial period, Calico selected LWS, as their partner of choice. LWS has developed a BS8484:2016 Gold Certified system called Safe Hub which works on a wide range of specialist devices and mobile and desktop apps.  The system monitors staff 24/7 through a direct connection with Mitec, a state-of-the-art Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), run by Mitie, the strategic outsourcing company.
