Lone Worker Solutions has signed a new contract to protect lone workers at Iris Service Delivery UK Ltd. The company will be deploying the Safe Hub app on its lone workers’ mobile phones to protect them in the field and while they are visiting clients.
Safe Hub protects telecoms engineers wherever they are working
The company is based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, but works throughout the UK delivering telecommunications services across mobile, fixed and optical networks. The Safe Hub app will be used by the company’s engineers across the country when they are working alone, remotely, or out-of-sight or hearing of their colleagues. The company has initially signed up for apps covering 50 of its engineers.
Safe Hub app is available for Android, iOS (Apple) and Windows smartphones
The Safe Hub smartphone app is available for Android, iOS (Apple) and Windows smartphones, and can be easily downloaded by end-users from their relevant app store or mobile device management software. Whichever handset it operates on, the app uses a phone’s in-built GPS and GPRS technology to provide accurate location data and the fastest possible alert transmission in the event of an emergency.
The company chose the Safe Hub app as it provides the widest range of features available. With our Red Alert feature, the app’s SOS button overrides the handset’s keypad lock allowing fast access in an emergency. Meanwhile, when using the Safe Hub app, features such as Safe Check and Worker Down run seamlessly in the background without interrupting the smartphone’s normal function. In particular for Iris, Worker Down will provide useful reactive support in the event of an engineer falling or being involved in an accident.
