With clients as diverse as American Water and Essex County Council, we understand how varied lone working can be in the real world. And it’s our business to protect employees, managers and shareholders from the risks associated with lone working. We’ve developed the sector-leading lone worker safety solution, to protect lone, vulnerable and remote workers from the potential risks which they face each and every day in the normal course of their work. While it is immediately obvious that some workers will be working alone or out-of-sight of colleagues, some workers may only occasionally work alone, or may be in a customer-facing role which brings its own risks. And because we have a range of devices, services and apps, we can make bespoke packages for every organisation’s needs.
Flexibility built in
Safe Hub is a multi-functional, secure, web-based system with integrated safety applications. The platform connects lone, remote and vulnerable workers via dedicated devices, mobile phones and computer applications to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Safe Hub can provide reactive or emergency support, and can offer proactive protection or be a virtual buddy, depending on the individual worker’s needs at any particular time. We can even help lone workers keep out of trouble in the first place, with our broadcast function and virtual barrier protection. Not only does this give workers themselves peace of mind, but it allows managers to control risks and meet the requirements of health and safety legislation. By accessing an accurate cross-device snapshot of activity, managers can demonstrate to auditors and directors that a safety culture lies at the heart of their corporate governance.
The platform provides the highest-possible degree of flexibility around the number of lone workers which are supported, and the level of support and protection which each of them requires. We can deploy a range of devices, apps and features to make a bespoke package work.
For each worker, we can allocate protection and monitoring solutions tailored to an individual risk assessment. We can define escalation and response procedures customised to each lone worker. We can activate or deactivate protection and monitoring as required. And we can communicate with, identify, locate and report on individual workers. Most importantly of all, in the event of an emergency we can ensure direct access to emergency services, bypassing the usual 999 call procedures.
Fully accredited ARC
All this is made possible as the software platform is supported by MiTec, a state-of-the art Technology Centre and Category II Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Category II means the ARC holds the BS5979 Gold Category II accreditation, the highest-possible award from the National Security Inspectorate in the UK. MiTec’s ARC operates around the clock and throughout the year, processing alerts from Safe Hub using the very latest voice and data communications technologies.
Whether it’s routine support or an emergency, Safe Hub connects your lone workers to the ARC for them to get the level of support they need.
