The UK’s only utility sector-specific health and safety conference
The conference is the only dedicated event for health, safety and wellbeing professionals from the water, gas and electricity sectors. This year’s conference in Birmingham promises to be essential for the sector’s health and safety teams. We’re looking forward to discussions on how to promote a culture of safety effectively and achieve board level buy-in. And as ever, we’ll be highlighting the importance of protecting lone workers in the sector.
The Safe Hub system ensures lone worker safety
We already have a number of clients in the utility sector, including E.ON, Calor Gas, Centrica, Bristol Water, Northumbrian Water Group and Wessex Water. Our award-winning platform, Safe Hub, provides the highest level of customisation and support for all workers and different levels of risk. All of our clients’ workers have access to the latest in voice and data communications technologies. When they need help, they’re connected to an Alarm Receiving Centre, which operates 24/7/365. And Safe Hub uses a single, intuitive interface to manage multiple devices and safety features.
Conference offer on SOS Fob and apps
As part of our range of lone worker safety devices, SOS Fob is discreet, durable, waterproof and lightweight. The device deploys two key technologies. Global Positioning System (GPS) locates lone workers in an emergency. Meanwhile, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) allows workers to speak directly to operatives at the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). We supply SOS Fob with a roaming multi-network SIM as standard, to maximise signal coverage even in areas of poor reception. The device can be clipped into a specially moulded identity badge, worn in an arm- or belt-holster, or carried in a pocket. It supports our Red Alert, Yellow Alert and Worker Down features, together with GPS tracking.
We can also deploy our systems on smartphones, standard mobile phones, Blackberrys, laptops and desktops with our range of Safe Hub apps. The desktop and laptop apps focus on providing emergency and proactive support, with Red Alert, Yellow Alert and Safe Check as standard. Our Safe Hub smartphone app supports our full range of features on Android and Apple iOS. From Red Alert through to Safe Beacon, it provides emergency, buddy, proactive, worker down, broadcast or barrier protection. That way, using their smartphones, we can help lone workers in need and stop them getting into trouble in the first place.

About Lone Worker Solutions
At Lone Worker Solutions, it’s our business to protect employees, managers and shareholders from the risks associated with working alone. This includes the potential hazards faced by staff who work by themselves, remotely, or out-of-sight or earshot of colleagues. When it comes to safety we don't believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach; instead, we tailor our solution to each organisation's exact needs.
