We’re pleased to announce a new product in our range of Safe Hub lone worker safety devices. The SOS ID Badge Alarm is the ultimate in wearable protection, which doubles up as an identity card holder. Healthcare employees, social workers and front-of-house staff will benefit most from its discreet design. It’s slim, ultra-light and easy to wear, using a clip or carrying strap. But this powerful device doesn’t compromise on protection features.
Powerful technology provides a range of lone worker support
With Red Alert, Yellow Alert and Worker Down fitted as standard, SOS ID Badge provides a broad range of support options. Using GPS and other GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) technology, Safe Hub can pinpoint a worker’s location within moments. The device works equally well indoors and outdoors, thanks to its powerful hybrid communications technology. When indoors or in a public location, it uses cellular, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals. Outdoors, it deploys 3-constellation GNSS service for a faster location fix. And we fit a roaming SIM as standard to maximise network coverage.
Summoning emergency help couldn’t be easier with SOS ID Badge
In the event of an emergency, lone workers can trigger a Red Alert via the prominent SOS key or ripcord. The clever design means that the carrying strap is integral to the ripcord mechanism, to access immediate help. Deploying either the SOS key or the ripcord opens a 2-way, hands-free audio call to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). And according to the worker’s individual risk profile, we can configure the SOS ID Badge alarm for audible or silent dial tone.
Motion and shock sensors detect impacts or unconsciousness
Another vital feature of the SOS ID Badge is its built-in motion and shock sensors. There is a range of scenarios when these sensors come into their own. A lone worker may slip, trip or fall. They may be struck, for instance if they are in a traffic collision. Or they may become unconscious and remain immobile for a time. In any of these events, the device will automatically trigger a Worker Down alert with our ARC. The ARC operator will then follow escalation protocols as defined by the lone worker’s individual risk profile.
